Alex Perez ~ spotlight artist
it is an honor to introduce to you the first spotlight artist for Side Porch, Alex Perez (he/him).
you might be familiar with his colorful and bold mural “After Dark” that stretches the east side of Black Napkin in grand rapids, on the corner of diamond ave & fulton st. he has a way of playing with colors and shapes that draws you in, and keeps your eyes searching for more.
i visited Alex at his studio space, shared with his partner Vanessa, where i was greeted by floating & glowing puffy clouds, and i knew there was something special going on there.
